Can they or can't they build on their grandiose debut? That's the exciting question that EINVIGI confidently answer with their second album "Yö Kulje Kanssani" and apparently play without pressure that it's - yes, you read that right - a great joy. Away with the clichés of Finnish bands whose emotional spectrum ranges from melancholy to depression to suicidal tendencies, because EINVIGI light up the heart and soul with their rousing music - as cheesy as that may sound.
"Yö Kulje Kanssani" is an album whose roots in blackened native metal are still clearly recognizable, yet which rises far beyond anything conventional in this genre and sets very strong accents of its own. There is no doubt that this is a band that doesn't want to be pigeonholed, but wants to play as freely as possible.
Up until a few years ago, such a grandiose album would most likely have been released by Prophecy Productions.
Press voices:
- "What Agalloch is for the US, what is Harakiri for the Sky is for Austria, what Alcest is for France, Einvigi is for Finland." (folk-metal.nl)
- "So you can once again look forward to a very special musical sophistication, where folky post-black riffs and tonal natural elements meet light-footed, rocking melodies. Oh, you can't imagine anything under it? Well, Einvigi's music is like a light snowfall, giving pure joy despite the cold, pleasant and beautiful at the same time!" (Schattenpfade / Waldhalla)
- "The Finnish hopefuls EINVIGI sound as somnambulistic as powerfully encouraging on “Yö Kulje Kanssani”, and should not only score with fans of Tenhi, Häive and Alcest. Their well-produced songs, suffused with light, transcend post-black metal with playful ease in favor of phenomenally catchy arrangements. " (Musikreviews)
