Trelleborg is a Russian group which plays pagan/Viking metal... “Lands Of Njord” is their first album. The album begins with a very nice instrumental intro at keyboards. The compositions are well done and if the album is long (more than one hour), the songs are well varied with power passages, pagan/Viking ones and you’ll find progressive elements avec even some black metal parts. Beside you’ll find some traditional instruments such as flutes, violin, and accordion like on “Metsannhumppa” or piano and organ like on “At The Last” a sad song, only instrumental. The vocalist’s voice is very powerful and deep. Musically, if the guitars are presents with strong riffs, it is the keyboards which often take the first place. The rhythmic section is also strong. You’ll find a lot of sound effects such as winds, waves, crowds, people in pubs etc …As a whole the compositions are energetic and epic. Some of you will probably find it long but personally I liked this album sure you won’t find anything new but who cares and besides the group is young and they will probably affirm themselves along the years. For fans of groups such as Alestorm, Korpiklaani,Arkona and so on.
