Death Metal
"The symphonic death metal quintet presents us with The Great Nothing, their third studio album. This time, too, the musicians rely on a mix of crisp riffs, epochal melodies and orchestral arrangements. Italian operetta? No way!... Nightland seem to be perfectionists. Every note in every song seems meticulously placed, with the band having a special penchant for expansive and dramatic song structures. Nevertheless, the Italians manage to get the curve to harder passages again and again and to offer their listeners a common thread in every song... Conclusion
If you like epic and orchestral Death Metal, you can't avoid The Great Nothing. Nightland have recorded an album here that can easily compete with the big names of the scene and at the same time is catchy enough to please non-genre Metalheads as well. Deserved 9/10" (www.soundmagnet.eu)
