The music of the boys starts out very dark and fast-paced. Without any stylistic devices, they manage to create a very oppressive atmosphere. Vocally they rely on demonic-sounding deep growls that harmonize very well with the melodic performance. Already with the first track “Ahnenweg” it becomes clear that you really have to listen to the songs very carefully in order not to miss any details, because mega melodic parts were built in again and again, which are hidden at the end or somewhere in the middle. So these can perhaps pass you by unconsciously on the first run and therefore fast zapping through is not intended here. A good example of these wonderful parts can also be found on the third track “Satellite Noir” where a flamenco style acoustic guitar enters. This combination of anger and harmony is just terrific and has no equal. In the course of the album you get these “aha moments” again and again and it's nice when you're surprised by a band, no matter how positively, when meanwhile a lot of things are going according to a given pattern.
Conclusion: Vimbulnatt is always exploring new boundaries and making the music an absolute listening experience! The band definitely deserves top marks for their innovation!"
